Terrace Park Neighborhood Streets

Artist: Lynn H. Carden

We are thrilled to be able to offer Limited Edition prints of the painting "Neighborhood Streets" done by former resident Lynn H. Carden. These prints are a fine-art giclee reproduction commissioned by the Terrace Park Historical Society. The limited edition of 100 is printed on archival paper using pigment based inks. Created in the fall of 1993 on the corner of Cambridge Avenue and Terrace Place, the original watercolor painting is on permanent display in the Terrace Park Creatives Gallery and Museum. Each print is signed by the artist and will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Three sizes of the print are available. Small $40.00; Medium $60.00 and Large $75.00. Proceeds from the sale of these prints will help support the Museum in the Streets program.

Personal/professional info:

In 1974 we moved into the 3-story Victorian house at 111 Terrace Place across from St. Thomas Episcopal Church. My husband Doug began work at Good Samaritan Hospital, and daughters Amy and Jenny started school. I had a BFA from OSU and as soon as we converted the loft above the garage into a studio, I resumed painting. For the next 24 years I worked there or out in the neighborhood on an easel, and occasionally in the Park Avenue kitchen of my dear friend and colleague, Jerry Oberle.

Row House Gallery in Milford hosted my first show in 1983. And in the late 1980's TP resident Mary Malotke bought 60 watercolor paintings for her new engineering company, Tencon.

Terrace Park Garden Club was a source of friends and gardening advice; and although I worked in watercolor, oil, and mixed media, my emphasis remained botanical in nature.

The lush landscape of Terrace Park held great appeal to me as an artist, but in 1998 we moved into a house near Eden Park which had a river view. Then in 2008 we returned to my roots, which is a family farm set among the rolling hills of Ross County. Here we built a studio onto the old homestead, and I continue to paint.

My work has been shown and collected in the tri-state area, and I am currently represented by the B. Deemer Gallery in Louisville, KY and Parkview Gallery in Chillicothe.

Cincinnati's YWCA celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Women's Art Gallery in October of 2011. Over the past two decades 300 local, regional and national women have showcased their work in the space. Considered pioneers for their gender, Lynn was one of the 22 asked to participate in its anniversary exhibit.
